GEMLIK EDUCATION DIRECTORATE

District Education Directorate is a non-profit public body which is the highest educational authority in the region. EU Projects and Foreign Relation office is formed in 2014 within the institution to run projects for the region. The main reason for this was to take part and implement projects which will be most useful for youth and to join forces which helps reach the goals and disseminate the project outputs. The project team is officially responsible for running all the local and European projects for/with the schools in the region; 1 nursery, 17 primary, 15 secondary and 10 high schools (including fine arts high school and a vocational high school). There are 1045 teachers in Gemlik educating 18.165 students in total. The Directorate applies the main government’s policies in schools, realizes the rotation of school headmasters and teachers, gives permission for non-formal activities such as; projects, sport activities, competitons, trips.
