Super Tineri ASIRYS Association is a non-profit and non-political organization, established in 2009 in Romania. Our vision is to build communities where young people thrive and enjoy life. Our mission is to educate young people to develop their leadership potential through volunteer and art programs.
Over the past 15 years, ASIRYS has focused on non-formal education and discovered that involving artists and cultural projects can bring transformation in spaces, unite people, and open up communities. We believe that culture is a resource that generates sustainable development, and thus, our efforts aimed to stimulate young people's interest in art and culture, using experiential approaches.
One of our most impactful volunteer programs is the "alternative museum" methodology, which involves international artists creating workshops and artworks related to the local cultural heritage. The public interacts with these ideas and diverse art forms and is invited to contribute through workshops, games and a diversity of experiential activities. By the end of such installations, young people not only learn about folklore (maf.supertineri.org), Cucuteni culture (cucuteni.supertineri.org), or the Rroma (marr.supertineri.org) and Jewish communities (jemom.supertineri.org) in the Iași county, but they also become co-creators and an integral part of the alternative museums through their own artworks, exploring and integrating European and human rights values.
Our long-term project is to transform Târgu Frumos into a cultural hub and a catalyst for cultural development in rural communities and small towns in the Iași county.
