Study Visit "Youth work reality in Caucasus countries"

Date and Venue

The Study Visit "Youth work reality in Caucasus countries" took place from 23rd June till 1st July 2007 in all 3 Caucasian countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia). Participants visited youth organisations and youthpolicy institutions in Tbilisi, Yerevan and Baku.

Participants

We selected 21 youth workers from Youth in Action Programme countries and 2 NAs' officers.

Applicants fulfilled following criteria:

• representative of the youth organisation or organisation working with young people, who is able and authorized on behalf of its organisation to create future projects ideas,
• basic knowledge about Youth in Action Programme (experience in projects with Neighbouring Partner Countries is very welcome),
• experience from minimum 1 multilateral Youth [in Action] project (other non-formal education experience was an additional advantage),
• willingness to participate in follow-up or evaluation activities organised by the National Agency or SALTO-YOUTH network,
• active participation and contribution during the full duration of the SV.

Working language of the Study Visit wasEnglish.

Programme elements

• Presentation of participants and organisations,
• Presentation of the Youth in Action Programme with special focus on cooperation with the neighbouring countries of the European Union,
• Visits to different youth organisation,
• Presentation of the youth work reality in different countries of Caucasus Region,
• Project Market - time for planning common, future projects.

Financial Conditions

• SALTO EECA RC provided board, lodging and local transportation for all participants.
• Travel costs were paid by relevant National Agency on its own principles.
• Participants were responisible for visas, insurances etc. costs.
