TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
http://trainers.salto-youth.net/TobiasGlismann/
Lifelong learner with an autodidactic spirit, I blend structure and flexibility in my training work—shaped by a unique path through filmmaking, languages, and human geography. I’m open, empathic, and passionate about people, places, and global issues. I love deep conversations, bold ideas, and creative methods that spark change—with the goal to leave the world a little better than I found it. I bring curiosity, clarity, and a touch of humour to every session I lead.
Tobias Glismann has 3 references for past work as a trainer.
Bachelor Student in Geography (fulltime), Youth Worker (freelance), Filmmaker and Podcaster (freelance)
I have been working full-time as a trainer, independently designing and leading workshop sessions on topics such as sustainability, storytelling, visual storytelling, and personal development. In addition to my professional roles, I have actively facilitated workshops as a participant in various Erasmus+ projects, covering a broader spectrum of topics that reflect my diverse interests.
I approach training with a multidisciplinary mindset, combining themes to create a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. Some of my key experiences include:
Training of Trainers on Food Security and Food Systems – Eat4Change with WWF
Peacebuilding Training – TheMissingPeace with CGE Erfurt
Graphic Facilitation Training – Go Visual with TEIS Foundation
Global Citizenship Education and Storytelling Training of Trainers – ToT GCE with Development Perspectives
In the near future, I aim to continue deepening my expertise in these areas while exploring new intersections between sustainability, visual methods, and personal growth within the context of non-formal education.
My educational path has been strongly shaped by personal interest and self-direction. Initially, I chose not to pursue formal education, instead relying on autodidactic methods to reach my goals. Through this approach, I taught myself Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, and gained hands-on experience in filmmaking—writing scripts, directing, and managing the full creative process independently.
These self-driven experiences were instrumental in shaping my identity as a learner and educator. They taught me discipline, curiosity, and a holistic way of connecting knowledge across fields, which deeply influences my approach as a trainer.
After two years of self-guided learning, I made the decision to return to formal education and began studying Geography, focusing on Human Geography topics such as value chains, urban and societal development, and human impact on climate change. This academic journey opened up new ways of understanding the world and helped me connect my personal interests with broader social and environmental issues.
These experiences—both formal and informal—have not only enriched my worldview but also deepened my motivation to engage with society and share knowledge through my role as a trainer.
