YOUTH WORK PREVENTING ROMA LABOR MIGRATION at RISK

Aims & objectives

The TC seeks to mobilise European youth multipliers` involvement in youth work for Roma rights, participation and equality; to train multipliers, working with Roma youth to foster Roma inclusion as a mean for prevention of Roma risk labour migration; to promote an asset-based Roma community action for employment and inclusion. The international TC was organized in Thessaloniki, Greece and will involve 31 youth workers from Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania and Romania in order to learn together and debate the youth work methods as tools to prevent the Roma youth labour migration at risk in Europe.

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal learning in youth work settings and artisitis youth work methods as tools to prevent the Roma youth labour migration at risk in Europe.

Outcomes of the activity

The Training Course drafted a European youth strategy on:
- how the European youth work can address the push and pull factors for Roma youth labour migration at risk in Europe;
- how Roma and non-Roma young people can work together to mainstream the problems of Roma labour migration at risk in the European societies and
- how non-European young migrants can be included in society and labour market in order to prevent the risks in their further migration in Europe.
