Youth of European Nationalities Autumn Seminar

Aims & objectives

1. to strenghten minorities in Europe and enable participants connect and exchange with each other
2. bring about topics relevant to the minority to the decision makers
3. to explore diverse dimensions of youth participation and particiants experiences in this field
4. to get a better understanding of youth and youth organisations' role in the society
5. to reflect on particiation mechanisms in own organisation and on own involvement opportunities
6. to collect ideas for enhancing participation in own organisation
7. to bring good practices related to participation in own organisation and reflect upon it on YEN level
8. to strenghten collaboration and active participation in the group
9. to create ownership feeling about YEN and to strenghen participation in YEN structures
10. to come up with specific ideas for own involvement at YEN and YEN's advocacy efforts
11. to provide basic knowledge on project management cycle and to develop concise project idea
12. to exchange on project ideas and preper for implementation

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Youth from 10 countries incl. Austria, Switzerland, Serbia, Croatia, Russia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, total around 45 participants

Training methods used & main activities

project management cycle and methods developed and described at the www.competendo.net, hanbook Cookbook for civic initiatives, own idea development, small group work, presentations, mapping tools, design thinking

Outcomes of the activity

14 project ideas created to strenghten YEN network, a collection of method planned to be decribed in the toolkit for youth particiants

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Facilitation of one working group in German language, facilitation of some parts of the whole group process

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
