This training course happened within the framework of WomIn in Creative Power, WICP. The training Course enhanced the entrepreneurial and intercultural competencies of prospective mentors for migrant women who would like to become entrepreneurs in the EU.
The cycle of learning fulfilled three stages of the experiential learning cycle by Kolb. The first phase of the training program was held online for three days on the 7, 8, and 9 of July 2021, followed by two months period of implementation. The participants of this training are people who identify as women and are intrapreneurs or entrepreneurs in the fields of creative, cultural, or social industries and who wish to become mentors of prospective entrepreneurs who are migrant women in Hungary, Slovenia, Sweden and Luxembourg. The third phase happened in person in Ljubljana in Slovenia from the 29th of October to the second of November 2021.
The training course fulfilled the learning needs of the mentors who mentored prospective entrepreneurs who identify as women and are migrants in the partner countries; this is by fulfilling the needs of learning on emotional intelligence, intercultural and gender sensitivity learning, experiential coaching tools, and by fulfilling the knowledge needs from the following modules:
• entrepreneurship competencies;
• competencies relevant for self-employment and entrepreneurial
initiatives within the creative sector;
• competencies related to gender and intercultural sensitivity learning;
• innovative entrepreneurial platforms.
I structured the program based on the findings of the mapping and study exercise as well as on a cooperative peer-to-peer assessment and co-design
among the partners.
WomIn Creative Power is a KA2 project co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the EU. The project aims to support the integration of migrant women into the labor market with a special focus on the creative sector. It is led by Formation et Sensibilisation de Luxembourg - FSL (Luxembourg), the project involves a transnational partnership with Sweden (SwIdeas), Hungary ( SVF ), and Slovenia (Povod).
WICP is a KA2 Strategic Partnership project, co-founded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union - Luxembourgish National Agency, Anefore.
The first stage was virtually conducted on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of July, 2021.
The first stage of the activities took place online via the zoom platform. The training course was interactive and it focused on enhancing the knowledge, skills, and competencies of prospective mentors in the following modules: entrepreneurship skills; skills relevant for self-employment and entrepreneurial initiatives within the creative sector; skills related to female entrepreneurship; innovative entrepreneurial platforms.
The methodology was built on the concept of education liberation and the pedagogy of experiential learning. Theories on mentorship, entrepreneurship, and creative industries were transformed via nonformal educational tools into concrete on-hand practices on how to become a mentor for migrant women’s entrepreneurship.
I co-designed the Training program based on the experiential learning cycle by Kolb. The stages of learning consisted of online training, a testing period, online reflection, and a meeting for evaluation in Slovenia in October 2021. The final stage of the training was reflected in the implementation of inclusive mentoring for social, cultural, and creative entrepreneurship as an efficient tool for the social and labor integration between hosting societies and migrant women in Hungary, Slovenia, Sweden, and Luxembourg.
After and during the training course the participants implemented a mentorship program with more than 50 migrant and refugee women aiming to enhance entrepreneurial and business skills.
On the WomIn Creative Power website, you may find Intellectual Output two which was created as a result of the training which contains:
