Aims & objectives

Overall aim:
The aim of this training course was to discuss and share experiences from different and similar approaches and realities of youth work in different countries and to develop common understandings of youth work according to Youth in Action Programme.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The participants were professional youth workers, directly working with young people, from UK, Bulgaria, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Hungary and Finland.


Training methods used & main activities

The entire course is designed as a mutual learning process in which, using diverse methods, participants can compare their approaches and experiences with youth work and Youth in Action programme. Trainers established a theoretical framework and common reference points for learning and communication in this course, and they also provided a framework where participants were able to exchange their experiences and to develop new ideas. The course methodology foresees direct involvement of the youth workers and youth work organisations that will be present at the training course.
The course programme and contents are organised to allow for the maximum participation of the group using active and participatory methods.

Outcomes of the activity

By this training course youth workers shared their experiences and work with the others and learned from each other the working methods and what means to be a mentor, tutor, coach... in the Youth in Action Programme. The participants got more European perspectives to their work they can also guide the young persons to understand of European Citizenship.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My role was to prepare, run and evaluate the whole training course with my trainer colleague.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
