V.I.A - Volunteers in Action

Aims & objectives

The training course V.I.A. Volunteers In Action aims at developing the competence of youth
workers youth leaders, multipliers and volunteers to plan and promote intercultural learning
and participation of youth in and through volunteering projects with high impact on the
volunteer and the local community. The participants will deepen their knowledge on the
subject of intercultural and non-formal learning, as well as receive some tools and resources
to plan cross-border volunteering projects. They will as well explore the impact of
intercultural non formal learning and volunteering and share best practises of promoting
and increasing visibility of intercultural learning and volunteering as well as develop new
practises. The opportunities of using Youthpass in Youth in Action activities as a tool for self
reflection and evaluation will also be discussed.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

youth workers youth leaders, multipliers from Armenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Georgia, Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Spain and Turkey.

Training methods used & main activities

team building, outdoor activities, intercultural learning (Abbigale story), Open Space technologies, communication exercises related to the dissemination of project to different target, simulation, case study.

Outcomes of the activity

The training was extremely successfull, with a video and a social campaign to promote volunteering and intercultural learning, made by participants. From the evaluation was clearly that we reached several objectives at personal level and professional ones.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was the main trainer with a facilitator and a project manager.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
