This was the first training course of the KA1 project South-East Adriatic Dialogue lead by CRN in which participants learnt about the theory of Peacebuilding and Conflict Management.
Ultimately our objective is to give a new focus on conflict transformation trying to move away from the role of the pure "activist" towards the one of "professional". This means not to indoctrinate the participants on basic moral assumptions but to stimulate their critical thinking (for instance through the analysis of narrative and strategic thinking ) to present conflict transformation as a problem-solving technique.
- Participants understand the concepts of PEACE; CONFLICT and PEACE BUILDING
- Participants discover tools to identify, analyse and solve (or transform) conflicts.
- Stimulate participants' critical thinking and problem-solving skills by allowing them to work on real case studies and practice the tools provided.
The target group of this training was formed by participants coming from: Croatia, Germany, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia
Non-formal education tools were used in this training.
An example can be the exercise of 4 words create a conflict in which participants analyzed the strategies that they used to solve the conflict by reflecting on their behaviour during the activity.
Another example can be the use of fishbowl debates to discover some aspects of conflict transformation and the creation of conflict maps done by the participants which helped them to learn how to understand conflict better.
By the end of the training course, participants expressed their wish to learn more about the topic in the next phase of the project, giving excellent feedback to this first phase through the evaluation forms and daily evaluations.
