Training of Trainers in Global Responsibility Education

Aims & objectives

The Training of Trainers Youth for Global Responsibility is an 8-working day training in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, gathering 37 youth leaders and trainers from 15 different countries. In the context of an ever globalized world, where regional challenges tend to affect us all, the partners in the project agree that global responsibility concept has to be mainstreamed in non formal education. With strategic policies such as Europe 2020, Millennium Development Goals, Rio +20, the partners in the project see it as their role to instil in the local communities a sense of global citizenship and responsibility.
The aim was: To create a qualified team of trainers (teachers and youth workers) trained in Global Responsibility Education; – To introduce GRE learning methods; – To introduce the GRE certification system among the partnering organizations; – To encourage creativity, responsibility and civil consciousness of youth.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

In total 37 participants (trainers and youth workers) from 15 countries were participate in the project, especially from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Italy, Kosovo, Moldova, Romania, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine.
By this training, participants have acquired a set of methods, tools and inspirations to promote global responsibility among young people, this enabling them to propose bespoke educational offers in their communities.

Training methods used & main activities

The training included simulations and interactive exercises, workshops, presentations, discussions and group work.
In the sessions of the Train of Trainers I have used tools for nonformal learning from Compass Manual, about Methods in Human Rights Education, Methods in Migration and Poverty Education: Can I come in?, 3 things, Language barrier, flower power, just a minute, energizers etc.

Outcomes of the activity

This training course gave to youth leaders tools to provide Global Responsibility Education among young people.
This training was a real success because it connects so many trainers and they created together other training courses and events for their communities. For example the project wrote by 3 of the participants: "From Healthy Lifestyle to Global Responsibility", "Life Balance" and others.

The participants were starting taking care about their personal development moved from the individual to society and the world, from local to Global.
We expect following impact on participating organizations: Improved professional competencies of their members, thus improvement quality in their trainings and raising of their capacities, efficiency of solving Global problems; Enhances stronger cooperation with partner countries in regard of quality of youth activities; Increased mobility within Erasmus+ Programme; Become more aware of international program working towards lifelong learning; Changed attitude towards Global Responsability.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My role in the training team was to find, prepare, implement and facilitate activities with 30 trainers and leaders from 15 countries during 2 full days about the topics: Human Rights Education, Migration and Poverty Education.

I worked on this training for 2 days as a full time trainer.
