TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

Aim:
To train multipliers who can support the work of NAs in order to improve the national implementation of the YiA programme both in quantitative and qualitative terms;
Objectives:
To give participants the opportunity to develop their:
• general understanding of the 8 roles of a multiplier
• knowledge of youth work realities in different European countries
• communication competence (presentation, active listening and information providing skills)
• competence to analyse and address the needs of potential Programme users
• competence to motivate others
• knowledge and understanding of the Youth in Action Programme and its main features
(European citizenship/participation, Non-formal education, Youthpass)
• competence to plan, run and evaluate multiplying projects;
Target group:
20 youth workers, multipliers of the Youth in Action Programme on the local or national level;
Methods:
The TOM is based on the experiential learning concept and includes variety of different methods. The course consists of one residential seminar and learning is accompanied through an online-platform. The training process is participant-centred and practice-oriented. The group building and intercultural learning are ongoing, horizontal aspects of the training course. ToM concept also addressed the
following main features:
- Recognition of non-formal education – implementation of Youthpass
- A focus on ‘learning to learn’ as part of the training approach;
