The training activity took place
in Helsinky, Finland

Aims & objectives

The TC aimed at developing competences of professionals working in ombuds’ offices active in human rights advocacy - particularly in the field of protection of children’s rights, as well as competences of youth leaders and youth workers, and to integrate and further develop practices of human rights education with children in various contexts and realities using COMPASITO, a manual on human rights education with children, as a tool.

The intensivity of the format (3 days) meant a particularly small team of trainers (just three) all coming from different countries in Europe (Italy and Czech Republic), as participants, who were 30 people (staff members of ombuds offices working on human rights issues and youth leaders and active youth workers).

Training methods used & main activities

Most of the methods used were adaptations for adults of activities in Compasito (Manual on Human Rights Education with Chilren).

Outcomes of the activity

The main outcomes of the activity were the interest in Compasito and promoting both the manual and Human Rights Education with children by relevant figures of the work of Children's Rights in different countries.
