TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Virginia Hernández
This project aimed to train young people with disabilities as trainers, creating the context, in terms of accessibility, to provide a competences based training experience.
This project included national and transnational trainings.
In the national trainings I worked directly in Spanish Sign Language with a group of deaf participants. In the transnational context the group was composed by blind people, coming from Belgium; deaf people from Spain and wheelchair users from Slovenia.
Dynamics to get to know each other; cooking as a team building; co-creation of the activities' programme with the participants; individual and group reflections on diverse topics; treasure hunt, etc.
By the end of the process participants felt ready to start their journeys as co-facilitators for non formal education activities. They also develop awareness about other people needs based in their disability, but also to have a more holistic approach when creating educational activities in a way that can be inclusive for everyone.
Trainer in the national process for Spanish participants; co-facilitator in the transnational activities; coordinator of the trainers' team
