The training activity aimed to prepare participants to use outdoor and experiential methods to help young people develop essential life skills, while also enhancing their own readiness and resilience. The training had three main objectives: to help participants with Personal Discovery and Growth through immersive experiences , to provide Theoretical and Practical Insights on experiential education models , and to strengthen the network of experiential organizations. The activity addressed the need to provide participants with the tools to become effective facilitators, capable of applying experiential methods in youth work
The training course is aimed at 20 professionals or volunteers who manage non-formal educational activities with young people. Participants came from Italy, Cyprus, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Finland, Austria, Sweden, and Hungary.
The training activity utilized non-formal learning methods, focusing on
immersive outdoor experiences and reflective practices. The program was designed to engage participants on a physical, cognitive, and emotional level. Participants received theoretical inputs on models of experiential education, including group dynamics, program planning, facilitation techniques, and reflective practices
Six months after the training, the results were tangible: the participants have prepared and are ready to submit four KA154 projects in the October 2025 call. This demonstrates the course's success in translating learning into action and generating a concrete impact in their respective work contexts.
My role in the trainers' team was multifaceted. I served as the project coordinator, overseeing the entire activity. Additionally, I was one of the trainers and coaches, responsible for facilitating the sessions and providing continuous support to the participants. I also took on the role of post-training coach, providing ongoing guidance to participants as they design and implement their follow-up activities in their respective contexts
