The mobility used a participatory and experiential non-formal learning approach focused on sustainable entrepreneurship, digital communication and intercultural learning. The programme began with team-building and group-cohesion methods such as name games, “2 Truths and 1 Lie”, speed dating and the co-creation of house rules. Participants also explored the differences between formal, non-formal and informal education through facilitated discussion and role-play, while Youthpass was introduced as a tool for recognising learning outcomes.
A strong emphasis was placed on collaborative exploration and learning by doing. World Café was used to introduce concepts such as social, green and digital entrepreneurship, sustainability and the SDGs, while an adapted “Take a Step Forward” activity encouraged participants to reflect on the Sustainable Development Goals from a personal perspective. Participants also mapped sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives in their own communities and used Design Thinking to identify problems, generate ideas and develop sustainable business solutions. These ideas were then further developed using tools such as the Business Model Canvas and a structured business plan template.
The programme also relied on debate, creative expression and practical digital production. Methods included an Oxford-style debate on entrepreneurship, gamified activities around the GAMMA model and the ABC of digital campaigns, and teamwork to create reels, social media posts, articles, memes and mock-up websites. Participants received peer feedback on their outputs and used the Plan, Execute, Evaluate approach to structure digital campaigns. A city treasure hunt in Barletta also combined intercultural learning, teamwork and informal interaction with the local community.
Reflection and evaluation were integrated throughout the mobility through the Five Finger method, small-group reflection, “Put a Finger Down”, Youthpass self-reflection, Dixit cards, Mentimeter and a final “Take a Step Forward If...” activity. These methods supported participants in reflecting on their learning, contribution, competences, group dynamics and future plans. Overall, the methodology combined experiential learning, collaborative problem-solving, design thinking, peer learning, creative communication, intercultural exchange and continuous reflection.
