Aims & objectives

The Training was part of a long term KA2 strategic partnership project.
The main objectives were to contribute to the social inclusion, integration and empowerment of young refugees and migrants in and outside participating countries, as well as to build the capacity of participating organizations and other civil society organizations. It also aimed to contribute to the promotion of fundamental European values such as tolerance, solidarity, understanding of diversity and, therefore, to the fight against discrimination, racism and xenophobia.
The Training was also focusing on good practices and methodologies related to non-formal education and storytelling, creating powerful messages and audio-visual products for empowering young refugees and migrants through showcasing positive examples of integration

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The Training course included the participation of 25 youth workers from the following Countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Turkey

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal and informal learning methods were used throughout the duration of the Training. Focus was given on mentoring and coaching techniques, reflection groups, advocacy and campaigning tools, storytelling and living libraries methodologies

Outcomes of the activity

Thanks to the activities carried out throughout the project, participants had the opportunity to improve their key competences, as defined in the Youthpass and specific in relation to the topics of the Training.
In particular, main outcomes were related to the development of local activities in each of the participating Country as concerning video creation involving young migrants and refugees, but also people from migrant background who became famous in the hosting Country, as well as living library events with the community

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

As freelance trainer, after an initial phase of contacts with the reference person of the organizations promoting the project and after finalizing the design of some of the activities, I was in charge to facilitate and train the group of participants in specific workshops, learning activities and reflection moments

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
