The specific objectives of the Sporting Inclusion and Diversity:
• Raise the awareness on the human rights situation of refugees in different European countries and combat prejudice, discrimination, social exclusion, and marginalization through the means of sport and physical activity;
• Develop and strengthen participants’ knowledge, skills, and competencies to become more active European citizens and advocates of tolerance, solidarity and cultural diversity who can realize local, sport-based initiatives in their communities to foster the inclusion of refugees, migrants, and youngsters of diverse cultural
backgrounds;
• Share sport-based educational methodology, exchange good practices and develop innovative educational tools to foster the social inclusion and sports participation of young people with fewer opportunities, especially with refugee and migrant backgrounds.
The training course took place in Vilnius from 21-26 August 2020. Twenty-five youth leaders, sports trainers, and NGO staff from Lithuania, Hungary, Latvia, Germany, and Croatia participated in the training.
Only NFE methods that encouraged active participation were used.
The intangible outputs developed through the project are the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired by the participants of the international activity.
The tangible outputs include a video manual targeting youth and sports organizations, individuals working with refugees and migrants.
Trainer/Non-formal education expert on Social inclusion through Sport:
Contributing to Sporting Inclusion and Diversity project agenda finalization;
Facilitating, coordinating, leading non-formal education project activities together with ENGSO Youth project team members;
Sharing knowledge and experience in the field of social inclusion through sport, focused on Refugee, Asylum seekers, migrants as a target group;
Reviewing and contributing to SPIDI video manual creation.
