Aims & objectives

The project included a Seminar and a Training Course, with these specific objectives:
1) to tackle the increasing issues of exclusion, xenophobia, discrimination and radicalisation of youth by improving capacities of European youth organisations in working with diversity, encouraging social inclusion of vulnerable groups and inspiring active youth participation
2) to provide youth workers and youth leaders with new and improved competences, good practices and non-formal learning methods to successfully work with culturally diverse groups and young people with fewer opportunities, while encouraging active youth participation and promotion of European values
3) to establish Network for the promotion of diversity, European values, mutual understanding and social inclusion of young people from vulnerable categories
4) to introduce opportunities and support features of Erasmus+ programme for work with young people with fewer opportunities on inclusion and diversity

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The Training course included the participation of 27 youth workers in each activity, from the following Countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal and informal learning methods were used throughout the duration of the Training. Focus was given on self-development and self-assessment tools, mentoring and coaching techniques, goal-setting techniques, trainer and youth worker competence models, exchange of good practices and networking

Outcomes of the activity

Thanks to the activities carried out throughout the project, participants had the opportunity to improve their key competences, as defined in the Youthpass and specific in relation to the topics of the Training.
In particular, participants improved and learned many different competences and tools for youth work related to inclusion and diversity topics with disadvantaged groups, especially young people with fewer opportunities, enabling them to plan and implement concrete activities to bring positive social changes and better inclusion and participation of disadvantaged groups in their communities. Moreover, during the seminar a new network including all the partner NGOs was created, and further developed with local activities, while during the Training participants improved their competences as facilitators/trainers/educators, based on different competence model frameworks, such as ETS or Council of Europe, also creating a specific toolbox with the developed activities

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

As freelance trainer, after an initial phase of contacts with the reference person of the organizations promoting the project and after finalizing the design of some of the activities, I was in charge to facilitate and train the group of participants in specific workshops, learning activities and reflection moments

I worked on this training for 8 + 8 days as a full time trainer.
