Aims & objectives

OBJECTIVES:
Enhancing the quality of international mixed ability projects, training youth workers to set up stimulating learning environment about disability issues, give an overview of the special arrangements within the Youth programme for mixed ability projects.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

TARGET GROUP: youth workers, social workers, peer and other educators. In total there were 49 participants (plus 2 personal assistants), of which 9 had a disability themselves (visual, auditive, mobility, allergies). 32 women participated and 17 men. As for the origin of the participants: 24 came from the 15 EU countries, 2 from EFTA countries (Iceland) and 23 from the current Pre-Accession countries (of which 2 from Turkey).

Training methods used & main activities

METHODS USED: Since learning by doing is one of the most efficient ways of learning, the course concept was conceived in a way that allows active participation and exchange between participants.

Outcomes of the activity

OUTCOMES: many Projects (though not all mix-ability projects)and partnerships between the participants organisations and individuals as well.
