Aims & objectives

The main goals of this training were creating a much wider range of access/possibilities and development for Deaf / Hearing People in Erasmus + and ESC programs through:
- creating a platform of Partners' actions supporting/engaging in ERASMUS + activities and ESC for Deaf and Hard hearing people,
- creating a platform for exchanging experiences and expectations of partner organizations from various European countries (14 Partners), with different experience and area of ​​activities,
- learning and promoting International Sign Language (ISL) as a communication method between Deaf people in Europe and in the world,
- learning and promoting International Sign Language (ISL) as a communication method between Deaf and Hearing in Europe and in the world,
- exchange of experience, expertise, and good practices,
- establishing new contacts and partnerships
- the opportunity to learn in detail the assumptions of the Erasmus + program and translate the theory into practice - an attempt to create Partnerships and applications,
- the opportunity to learn in detail the assumptions of the ESC program - an attempt to create Partnerships and applications,
- promoting inland sailing as a method of working with young people,
- promoting international sign language as a method of communication between Deaf people in the world
- promoting international sign language as a method of communication between Deaf and hearing in the world,
- promoting ERASMUS + and ESC programs of their main principles, possibilities in ISL.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The project has been attended by 13 Organizations from Spain (2), Sweden, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey (2), Italy (2), Portugal (2), Greece, Poland.
A total of 38 participants, including about half, were deaf/hard of hearing people.

Training methods used & main activities

The project has been conducted using nonformal learning in verbal English translated into International Sign Language (ISL).
Every day there was an ISL lesson conducted by 2 experienced teachers/translators from ISL from Italy. One of them is a Deaf person.

Outcomes of the activity

- integration of the Hearing and Deaf on the level of people working with youth, employees/organizers of the Organization,
- learning English (listening, reading from the mouth, understanding),
- learning International Sign Language (for all participants),
- theoretical and practical knowledge about Erasmus +
- theoretical and practical knowledge about ESC,
- new Partnerships between organizations working for the hearing and deaf youth,
- new projects including or specially prepared for Deaf / Hearing impaired youth or with other disabilities
- new cooperation opportunities - a significant part of our Partners in the project are new organizations working in various areas and different institutions
- promotion of sailing as a "school of life" and outdoor sport activity

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was involved in the training as ISL (International Sign Language) trainer and facilitator for the inclusion of deaf/hard of hearing people in all the project activities.

I worked on this training for 9 days as a full time trainer.
