Aims & objectives

Wholistic Recovery International serves those in recovery from addictions, substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma, grief, loss, and any object, behavior, or experience that has obscured the spirit. WRI provides the tools, environment, and support to recognize, reconnect, and recover the innate whole self.
Also, Wholistic Recovery International honors that recovery entails integration of all aspects of the self – emotional, mental, physical, relational, and spiritual.
This course was proposed as first in its gender in the area. The need though, was on ane hand to support participants in their process; on the other hand was about to open a new way in the field of recovery in a "development country".

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The team was composed by three operators:
- Cathirose Petrone: ND MA CNC - Integrative Therapist and Recovery Coach
- Marco Adda: Trainer and Facilitator
- Janelle Maree: BAppScHMS(Ed), Wellness Counselor.

The participant were from different nationalities: Australia, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Usa, Croatia, Germany.
Participants had different ages and with different dynamics. Two family groups were also present.

The size of the group was of 24 people: 21 participants + 3 trainers.

Training methods used & main activities

The training was really multidisciplinary, so several method were used according to the knowledges of trainers. Here a resume:
Transpersonal psychology, Yoga, Qigong, Integral Neuro Somatic, Applied Body Neuroscience, Mindful disciplines. All those knowledge were proposed in a non formal approach and setting. Also the space where we work were non formal, typically a wooden floor large open room, but activities were also done outdoor in the area.

Outcomes of the activity

The target was certainly that of provoking a transformation in the participant, at whatever level that might have happened. The period we have spent together has been sometime flow, sometime very intense and emotional. We have done several debriefing whit the participants to let them share their opinions, which was important for up to explore the verbal level of feedback from participants. They acknowledged the value of what we have done, somebody said to have seen aspect of themselves where not clear before, other were crying and thanking us for the great work dono and for the generosity.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was as first part in the organization and preparation of the course. I was involved in choosing the program and logistic.
During the course I've led several sessions, while working in group, and done several face to face with certain participants, which was one of the "service" we were offering "on request".
Also I took care of collecting notes on the process and write a final report the steps we crossed, the methods we used and what happened during the sessions.
I've been involved full time as trainer in this activity.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
