Contact making seminar and international skill-share project that focused on addressing different challenges youth workers are facing within LGBT+ youth work setting
The overall aim was to improve capacities and empower youth workers to use non-formal education within LGBT+ youth work setting. Furthermore, this seminar focused on peer to peer learning and exchange of good practices and creative approaches.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
I. To offer space for LGBT+ community youth workers to share and promote best youth work
practices and learn from each other
II. To support participants in developing soft skills and competences in combining both LGBT+
and non-formal education perspectives
III. To inspire youth workers to use various non-formal education methodology in their
everyday work
IV. To support a strong international network of LGBT+ community youth workers and
organisations
V. To learn more about the Erasmus+ program and its actions, and provide space for creating
new partnerships and new projects
Target group: Youth workers, project leaders and educators involved in youth work
Participating Countries: Serbia, Poland, Czech Republic, Ireland, Spain, Slovak republic, Italy, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria and Belgium
Team of Trainers: Ireland, Slovakia, Belgium
The working methods included working in pairs and small groups, visualizations, body based activities, theatre, creative expression, contemplation, team building activities, role plays, discussions, and self-assessment and SDL.
Increased understanding of the values and beliefs heteronormative structures impose on LGBT and non young people and how is that damaging their mental health.
Project Coordinator and Trainer responsible for creating and delivering training programme.
