Aims & objectives

Aims and Objectives:

To enable EVS volunteers to reflect on and obtain competences in:

- Communication
- Problem solving
- Dealing with ambiguity and change
- Project planning and implementation
- Teamwork
- Appreciation for diversity
- Understanding EVS as a learning experience and documenting learning achievements
- Setting and achieving goals

The outcomes of the training were that the volunteers were more prepared for the challenges they would face as EVS volunteers and were provided with the tools and information that they needed to do so.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participants were from Croatia, Germany, Lithuania and Austria. Team of trainers were from Holland, Turkey and USA.

Training methods used & main activities

Training methods used during this training were role play, input sessions, group discussions, individual work, group work and project workshops.

Outcomes of the activity

The outcomes of the activity were that the volunteers had the information and tools that they needed to have a successful EVS experience and were able to more clearly understand EVS as a learning experience.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Within the team of trainers I was the primary facilitator and representative of the host organization.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
