Nowadays world is being tried by several exams involving financial crisis, intercultural problems as well as the fights for leading power of the regions or the world as a whole. The part of Arab world is trying to find their way to freedom and democracy facing the opposition of historical order. The European Community is standing in front of the question “to be or not to be” or “how to be” trying to answer this question under the pressure of numerous political influences. This is the time where the international seminar “No tank you” took place.
The main emphasis of “No tank you” international seminar was on non-conflict and peaceful resolution while the new tools and methodologies were provided.
Partners from Italy, Turkey, Latvia, Spain, Germany, Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Georgia were cooperating in the project with about 20 participants.
Each country had 2 participants over 18 years old.
The participants that came to this seminar were youth or social workers actively involved in international and/or local youth, social, community work.
By means of dialogues, simulations, engaging in pair and team work the participants had the opportunity to understand what is the role of civil society in stimulating the present day social movements.
The project gave to participants the tools and competences to understand what civil society is and what is its role in our own societies, they familiarize with concepts and approaches of non violent actions i.e. how to use it best and adapt it to local contexts and realities in order to promote peace building.
Moreover they were equipped with skills to act in order to fulfill their goals.
They empowered to act wisely in conflicts on individual as well as societal levels.
They reviewed and enhanced competences (knowledge, skills, attitudes) in working as multipliers, and activists on peace building using non formal education tools;
The TC enabled participants to develop activities and programmes for multipliers in conflict transformation and non-violent actions, at international, national or local level.
During the seminar participants realized how important is their role in the process of construction of Europe , especially during this transformation period is very important an active participation and how to be multiplied in their local community.
