to develop the competences of participants in using a selected basic set of methods in non-formal education, which will contribute to the participantsā€™ professional development and increase their range of available methods as trainers, facilitators and educators
to expand the community of multipliers / ambassadors on why and how to use non-formal methods in education
to produce footage for video tutorials on methods in non-formal education

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participants were youth leaders, beginner educators and facilitators from 9 different countries: Netherlands, Austria, Ukraine, Georgia, Poland, Belarus, United Kingdom, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia,

Team was composed by 4 trainers, 3 video producers, 1 graphic designer, 1 graphic recorder, 1 logistic person from Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina

Training methods used & main activities

The training course was very practical, action-oriented and hands-on. The big focus was on covering a basic set of methods in non-formal education that equipped the participants for a wide range of educational needs and situations (so that they have swiss army knife in their toolkit so to say). Participants learnt the methods by participating in them and practicing them (learning by doing).
As we used the opportunity of the training course to produce footage for video tutorials.

The set of methods we want to cover during the training course are:

energizers, name games and introduction activities
group building and group dynamics activities
different formats for debates / discussions and group work
simulation exercises, role plays and outdoor activities
debriefing, evaluation, assessment and closing methods

Outcomes of the activity

Training besides reaching participants expectations on developing their knowledge and skills on NFE activities, produced 15 NFE video tutorials that will be posted at this YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/YOUTRAINvideoproject

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was full-time trainer and developer of the scripts for the videos. I focused on delivering activities on measuring participants competences, helping them get to know each other and build the trust, checking their expectations and later comparing with results and facilitating circle of evaluation. Besides that i was responsible to deliver session on difficult situations in training environment using Forum Theatre.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
