Aims & objectives

General aim of the training course was:
• to empower youth workers, young people, trainers and other stakeholders in youth sector for using the innovative methods of marketing, with special emphasis on guerilla marketing and public relations

Specific objectives were the follwoing:
• to enhance communication and problem solving skills;
• to develop public communication skills of participants (public relations and media relations);
• to present and implement innovative marketing methodologies to draw attention to particular problems in local communities (such as environmental, social, economic or other);
• to meet and network with other participants and sharing experiences in guerrilla marketing;
• to implement learned methods directly during the training course;
• to raise awareness of participants about proper use of marketing and media to draw attention to problems in local communities and to mobilize young people.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Team of trainers consisted of two trainers. Participants were 24 youth workers, youth leaders and project managers from 8 EU countries: Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, Italy and Slovakia.

Training methods used & main activities

The training was based upon non-formal education approach. A combination of different creative and interactive methods were used such as: Ice-breaking and Getting to know each other activities, Workshops, Discussion, Community project - guerrilla actions, Individual work and counselling, Theoretical Input, Presentations, Personal, group, and meta reflections, video exercises and evaluations.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants:
• know and understand how to use different clommunication methods for gaining visibility;
• are aware of their communication towars others;
• are aware of how to deal with cultural differences and with conflicts;
• know and understand the concept of guerrilla marketing and its role in youth organizations;
• had a chance to meet and network with other clolleauges who want to start the Guerilla network;
• know how to implement guerrilla actions in their local communities;
• understand the basic functions related to marketing, guerrilla and public relations;
• know how to make a detailed plan for guerilla actions;
• know and understand the concept of competences and Youthpass;
• had a chance to explore own and other cultures.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My responsibilities included:
• design of the program and methodologies,
• delivery of the sessions,
• further help with inquiries and materials for participants.

I worked on this training for 10 days as a full time trainer.
