Aims and objectives:
The International youth training course aimed to develop youth work interventions as an effective powerful tool for prevention of youth migration at risk and motivate participants to become committed youth activists.
Target Group - migrant youth, migrant and minority youth leaders and workers active at community and local level to discuss and to develop youth work interventions as an effective powerful tool for prevention of youth migration at risk.
International Dimension of team of trainers:
5 trainers (3 females – myself – Bulgaria, Ukraine and Italy; 2 males – Greece and UK).
Methods - The working methods of the training course were based on non-formal interactive and participatory approaches. The methodological interventoins facilitated a ballanced exchange of information about the potential of the European youth work and development of new skills in youth work for prevention of youth migration at risk.
The projects and experiences of the participants served as a basis for reflection and discussion of good practices. Contributions by participants and invited experts gave a broad picture of existing theories, initiatives, projects and approaches to work with young people from migrant and minority communities. Inputs and discussions in plenary sessions, thematic working groups and workshops on different approaches seeked to develop knowledge and skills in youth work for prevention of youth migration at risk. Furthermore they served as a basis to sustain the Euro Mediterranean Network for Youth Trafficking Prevention to create new partnership for exchange and co-operation.
