Aims & objectives

- Creating common understanding on what is cross-sectoral cooperation in the local youth policy;
- Answering why cross-sectoral cooperation is important;
- Describing the theoretical model of cross-sectoral cooperation (who’s involved, how it works)
- Sharing good existing practices of cross-sectoral cooperation;
- Drawing recommendations how to improve cross-sectoral cooperation in the local youth policy.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

This seminar was run under the agreement on cooperation between Flanders and the Baltic states, represented by 5 participants per country.
Profile of participants:
- Representatives from the municipalities active in local youth policy: local youth coordinator, youth representative, politician/decision maker, at least two specialists from different sectors (culture, sport, policy, education, health care etc.) -> all having cross-sectoral cooperation experience, but not the same one.

Training methods used & main activities

group work, facilitated discussions, interactive methods, silent floor discussion, Labaratory of future, simulations, study visits to municipalities.

Outcomes of the activity

Indicators of successful cross-sectoral youth policy and cooperation, action plans to improve cross-sectoral cooperation in each municipality present, raised awareness about added value of cooperation and practical examples how it could work.
