Aims & objectives

the training focused on two key advocacy topics: Human Rights Education and Sustainability Advocacy.

The goal was to empower participants to become advocates for both human rights and environmental sustainability. Through hands-on activities and peer-led discussions, the training aimed to build participants' capacity to influence positive change in their communities regarding these critical issues.

Addressed Needs:
Advocacy Skills: The training addressed the need to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to advocate for human rights and sustainability.
Awareness: It also met the need to raise awareness on how to integrate these topics into local and global initiatives.
Leadership in Advocacy: Participants were trained to develop leadership in advocating for Human Rights and Sustainability, empowering them to take active roles in promoting these causes within their own communities and networks. This involved practical exercises on communication strategies, policy influence, and community engagement.

Fit with Organizational Goals:
KISC: The focus on human rights and sustainability advocacy aligns with KISC’s vision of developing young global citizens who are equipped to address the world’s pressing social and environmental challenges.
WOSM: These advocacy topics fit with the World Organization of the Scout Movement's broader mission to foster leadership, community service, and global citizenship among youth. By addressing these themes, the training directly supported WOSM's strategic priorities, particularly those related to active citizenship and sustainable development.

Training methods used & main activities

We use the Scout Method in our facilitation. The Scout Method is an essential and unique system for progressive self-education. It applies various elements that create a cohesive and balanced system for young people to experience the true potential of Scouting in a safe environment. By empowering young people to become active citizens, they will gain lifelong learning and skills based on shared values, education, fun, and enjoyment. from Learning by doing, learning outdoors, and work in international team systems, the training focused on handon experience with more interaction and engagement among the participants
