This activity is a summer training program for young people who wish to develop their skills in the field of animation, non-formal methodology and international team work.
The objectives:
- provide a practical training on intercultural animation;
- provide space for implementation of the new gained skills;
- create an international team of animators well-equiped for work in their local communities;
- develop skills in the area of team work and international cooperation;
- enhance the creativity in developing activity structures adopted to the animated groups.
The program is open for youth workers, animators, teachers, trainers and social workers. There are no limitations as for age or nationalities. The participants involved in the project since 2006 came from Poland, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Lithuania, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, the UK, Romania, Belgium, Netherlands, Cyprus, Jordan, Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, Guatemala, Australia, the USA.
The whole training is based on non-formal education. The methods used during the workshops:
- ice breakers,
- group work,
- discusions,
- brainstorming,
- open space,
- role play activites.
The participants get also the practical training and have a chance to implement their new skills during the activities with local community.
The activity is very successful and each year it brings more young people interested in joining the international team of animators. A total number of about 70 young animators has been trained over the past six years of the training. The activity has a big impact on the local community as every year we implement an animation program for kids ran by the freshly trained animators.
I am the trainer and facilitator of the workshops as well as the coordinator of the whole project.
