Aims & objectives

MAIN: To prepare the volunteers for the service period and the EVS experience.
1. To get to know each other.
2. To facilitate the understanding of Erasmus +, in a simple way and with specific topics.
3. To provide general information on EVS (roles, practical info and Youthpass)
4. To provide specific information regarding each volunteers’ project and tasks
5. To define learning goals
6. To promote intercultural learning and active listening

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The group of four volunteers was composed by young people from Italy, Spain, Slovakia and Czech Republic.

The team was formed by two Portuguese senior trainers and one Polish and one greek junior trainers.

Training methods used & main activities

Energizers, collage, backpack of contributions and expectations, informal meetings with different parts involved (mentors, tutors at the partner organisations, local and EVS volunteers), words’ puzzle, mission possible, videos followed by discussion, workshops, 9 dots exercise, a little cooperation exercise, presentations, social theatre, among others.

Outcomes of the activity

The young people became more aware of their rights and duties as EVS volunteers.
They reflected about their learning goals for their EVS journey.
They went through the first step of integration in their EVS projects and local community.
The group has put together a cooperative mindset.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Senior trainer, responsible for planning the programme, gathering and coordinating the pedagogical and logistics team, identifying the aims of the activity, defining methods, evaluation, feedback to all parts and reporting.

I worked on this training for 3 days as a full time trainer.
