Aims & objectives

Aim of the activity was to equip participants with knowledge and skills needed to successfully plan and assess the impact of projects in the field of youth.
Goals were:
learning about the basic concepts related to project management and impact assessment
Learning to plan and assess projects' results and impact by using specific tools.
exploring and defining projects’ impact indicators and data sources for effective measurement of the impact.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participants were representatives of organisations, planning or/and implementing projects in the Erasmus+: Youth or European Solidarity Corps programme in Germany and Italy. Majority of them were working with (young) people with less opportunities (with migration background, with health obstacles). At the beggining also a participant from Slovenia joined, but was a very beginner in project planning and implementation, so we directed her to a Impact+ e-training, from which she could benefit more. The fluctuation of participants was a challenge for the trainers team and this asked for more flexibility in the training design. Co-trainer was Melih Özkardes (Germany/Netherlands).

Training methods used & main activities

Methods: individual work with the help of templates, individual reflections, theory in-puts, buzz groups, discussion, story-telling, an interview, case-study example. Tools: Activities for
individual work (exercises, working sheets) were templated and then implemented by
participants on platform Mural . Every participant had his or her own sheet in Mural but everyone
was able to see each one’s Mural which was a kind of possibility for peer support. Platform of the training was HOP. Participants were also invited to work on theit individiual template an 'Impact Diary', wich was a workbook to monitor and record learnings.

Outcomes of the activity

At the end of the activity participants were equiped with knowledge and skills needed to successfully plan and assess the impact of projects in the field of youth. Each participant leaved the training with a tool and templates for further planning projects and impact.
