Aims & objectives

Aim of the activity was to equip participants with knowledge and skills needed to successfully
plan and assess the impact of projects in the field of youth.
Goals were:
● learning about the basic concepts related to project management and impact assessment,
● getting to know the Impact+ Tool and its adaptation for use in the youth field,
● learning to plan and assess projects’ results and impact,
● exploring and defining projects’ impact indicators and data sources.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

16 participants were representatives of youth organisations, youth workers, youth and project
leaders planning or/and implementing projects in the Erasmus+: Youth in action or European
Solidarity Corps programme (from The Netherlans, UK, Croatia, Spain, Romania, Finland, Italy, Greece, Serbia, Sweden ...).

Training methods used & main activities

Methods: individual work with the help of templates, coaching, home-group reflections, theory in-puts, buzz groups, pitching, discussion, story-telling, an interview, case-study example. Tools: On the training participants shared a google doc, named “Base camp”, which was actually a whole-training-growing workbook. Trainers prepared all the content in advance in a
separated google doc and filled out the “Base camp” with the flow of the training. Activities for
individual work (exercises, working sheets) were templated and then implemented by
participants on platform Mural . Every participant had his or her own sheet in Mural but everyone
was able to see each one’s Mural which was a kind of possibility for peer support. The whole
group of participants and team had a channel on Telegram to communicate and ask questions. Padlet was used to collect resources, suggested by participants.

Outcomes of the activity

At the end of the activity participants were equiped with knowledge and skills needed to successfully plan and assess the impact of projects in the field of youth. Each participant leaved the training with a tool and templates for further planning projects and impact.
