Aims & objectives

To activate young people to take part in policy debates. The topic selected was youth participation with a focus on the further development of the concept of a Youth Takeover Day. The IdeaLab was part of an initative of the European Commission in relation to the European Youth Week.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The group consisted of 12 young people and youth workers from DE, UK, NL and TK. They mostly had extensive experience in the subject of youth participation and partially with the concept of the Youth Takeover Day in particular.

Training methods used & main activities

The methodology of the training consisted of mapping activites, participant presentations, metaplan gathering and group work.

Outcomes of the activity

The activity created an output for the EU Youth Week, including paper documents, articles, a video and pictures.

I was the trainer for the event, drafted the programme, prepared the sessions and facilitated the meeting
