The training activity took place
in Berlin, Germany
organised by Network of EuRopean Digital Youth
18.-24.04.16

Aims & objectives

Bring gamers from diverse backgrounds together, explore hate and discrimination in videogames and their communities and create safe spaces for inclusion. The project involved 4 youth exchanges on different topics, this exchange focused on diversity and activsm.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The training brought together young gamers from AT, DE, DK, NO, PT, SE. Each group had 4 participants and a teamer. The groups have been co-facilitated between me and my colleague.

Training methods used & main activities

The training was designed for newcomers to non-formal education. We had a long icebreaking part at the beginning of the training to overcome fears and phobias and make familiar with the programm and NFE. We facilitated open space sessions to exchange about different aspects of the topic. We used Digital Game-based Learning to adress the gamers in their common interest and environment and gave the possibility to hear from external experts in the field.
