European Youth Meeting 2009

Aims & objectives

- To promote active citizenship
- To reflect and debate about the singular fundamental values of the European Union
- To tackle the issues of Citizen's rights and Justice, Dignity and Freedom and Equality and Solidarity
- To develop a recomendation tackling the issue of education in European level.
- To bring closer the participants with the democratic process of decision making in EU

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

12 trainers and 250 participants from all 27 EU member states plus Turkey and Norway.

Training methods used & main activities

Non formal learning methodology; Simulations, presentations, peer education, active learning, creativity.

Outcomes of the activity

- Intercultural learning
- Awareness about the issues being tackled
- Documentation of the student's proposals
- Voting simulation of the EU parliament
- Public presentation of the recomendations
