Aims & objectives

The European Youth Conference is a conference that brings together young people and decision-makers, including people from youth ministries and youth policy directors. The aim of the conference is to lay the foundations for the European Youth Dialogue programme. This conference and the two subsequent conferences were focused on the theme of Inclusion and addressed issues relevant to youth in this field.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The group consisted of:
- young people between 16 and 30 years old from EU countries
- young people representing youth councils at national level in their countries
- young people representing youth councils at national level in their countries outside the EU.
- decision-makers within the EU countries.
- Delegates from third sector organisations
- Experts on specific topics related to the field of action

The following activities have been carried out through non-formal education:

Outcomes of the activity

The aim of the conference was to address specific Youth Goal 3 issues: barriers, support and changes needed in relation to inclusion policies affecting youth across Europe.
The meeting was attended by 150-200 participants. Participants were able to discuss and share concerns and wishes for improvements to be made to policies.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was part of the team of trainers.
My tasks and responsibilities were:
- to apply the methodology designed for the conference
- Preparing the sessions in advance
- training, facilitating the sessions with the working groups
- Evaluating the work done
- Follow-up of the participants and setting up safe spaces
- Together with my harvester partner, summarise the conclusions and prepare the official presentations.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
