EuroMed Training Course "Youth Participation and associativism - New ways of participation"

The training activity took place
in Barcelona, Spain
organised by National Youth Council of Catalonia
9-17 June 2012

Aims & objectives

- To encourage youth union, and the democratic process in general.
- To act as a bridge between youth groups and the political powers so as to facilitate the general improvement of youth issues.
- To promote relations between youth associations.
- To publicize, at an international level, the activities of youth associations.
- To develop and finance studies and reports on youth issues.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

- Young political leaders and youth workers coming from Spain, Italy Portugal, Croatia, Israel, Palestine and Jordania.
- Team formed by trainers form Spain, Italy and Turkey.

Training methods used & main activities

- Non Formal Education methodology, implemented with non-formal learning based methods like groups dynamics, debates, simulations and groups of discussion.
- Theater of the Oppressed methodology was implemented during the activities, using Image Theater and Drama methods.

Outcomes of the activity

- Awareness on diversity in the EuroMed area through Interculturality.
- Knowledge about youth participation situation in the EuroMed area.
- New ideas and proposal on youth participation and its implementation.
- Exchange of best practices on Non Formal Education work whit young people and on Youth participation.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

- Trainer in charge of training session on Team-building, Euro-Med cooperation, Youth Participation, Intercultural Dialogue, Youth in Action and MEDA Programme, Follow-up, Evaluation.
- Trainer in charge of a reflection group of participants.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
