Enhancing Audio Visual Digital Literacy

The training activity took place
in Poggio Mirteto, Italy
organised by YMCA Parthenope Onlus
17-27 June 2014

Aims & objectives

The aims of the Grundtvig Workshop "Enhancing Audio Visual Digital Literacy" was to give trainers and youth workers working with kids with special needs the skills and competences to use Media, photos and videos in their daily actvities.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The group was composed by 24 participants from 14 different countries: Italy, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Romania, The Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Turkey, France, Belgium, Ireland, Spain and Lithuania.

Training methods used & main activities

We mainly used two non-formal methods: the first was the "learning by doing", after short lectures about photo and video making, the participants were practising what they learned, they had the chance to organize workshops based on media. The second mmethod was the "peer to peer" method as we had many youth workers, trainers and educators with decennial experience we implemented activities where they could share their knowledge and learn from eachother.

Outcomes of the activity

The project was a huge success, we received very positive feedback also from the Italian National Agency (INDIRE).
We produced a beautiful video that you can see here: https://vimeo.com/100685928 and an handbook with some of the activities realized: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a36nqf5lr2qqtez/Grundtvig%20Workshop-Handbook.docx

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

In this programme I was the head trainer and responsible for the implementation of the programme. I gave lectures and coached a beautiful group of professional trainers and photographers that supported me in the team.

I worked on this training for 11 days as a full time trainer.
