TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Antonela Kotsoni
EEFEct trainin explored the different aspects of eco-tourism. Using as a starting point, the hosting country and region, participants immersed through three different areas.
- Ecotourism as an educational tool
- Ecotourism as an entrepreneurial drive for local development
- Ecotourism, branding and online tools, aka. tecotourism
We explored the power of social media, the role of sustainability and entrepreneurship ideas of ecotourism. We immersed on the educational aspect of ecotourism and what it means for local
development. We looked at best practices and real-case scenarios.
There was also a small surprise, a 10km trekking along the gorge of Vouraikos in Greece.
EEFEct was part of an Erasmus+ KA2 project with participants from Ronania, Portugal, Italy and Martinique (France)
NFL methodology was applied on all aspects of this training.
Experiential learning was part of the more active sessions (trekking, experimenting with tools, applying different methodologies into designed ecotourism festivals).
Main outcome of this training was the collaboration of the young participants in the creation of the Manual for Ecotourism Promotion (https://eefect.eu/activities/outcomes-and-results/) and the submission of the follow up project E+ project "Heritage for youth" which was recently approved by the Italian NA and is due to start in September 2020.
I was the coordinator of everyhting; conception, design, preparation, implementation, monitoring, follow up and evaluation. Another volunteer trainer assisted me in the design of the training activities and the delivery of some of the sessions. She also helped with graphic facilitation and communication with participants, but overall I was the person responsible for this.
