Aims & objectives

Student are led by models that give them a strong structure but also not allowing them to explore and apply other attitudes in their way of behaving and living. This workshop was set up to try to "break" the usual habits that student have and propose some new models, new perspectives, new possibilities of perceiving themselves and others, then new ways of behaving and being in the world.
Also the activities proposed were new to them, since they combined theatre, sport, dance and nature, which they might have experienced before separately.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Marco Adda: trainer, facilitator, coach
Susanne Roziadi: facilitator

Students were from different countries: Indonesia, Japan, Cina, France, Italy, UK, US, Spain, Croatia, Rumenia, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Russia, New Zealand, Belgium, Switzerland.

Age of the students: 8 to 16 years old.

Training methods used & main activities

I applied non-formal training inspired by sport, theatre, physical theatre, circus, contemporary dance, martial arts, excursions, totems.

We had a working area indoor, where we have done lot of work on movement expression and composition, inspired by sports and dance, to create some choreography; then we had wonderful area outdoor, where we interacted with nature, or done some running and other sports activities and trampoline.

All the activities had to be in line with certain principle that student had to embody: mutual respect, mutual support, acceptance of personal or collective difficulties, non-judgmental approach to actions and evaluations, spontaneity, and others...

Outcomes of the activity

Students were progressively more and more involved in the activities, happy to participate and taking the initiative. They were also motivated to set up some activities by themselves.
Some individuals in the group were a bit isolated at the beginning, then they were progressively involved in the group an became, in certain cases, themselves leaders of certain activities.
Parents of the students, which were invited sometime to watch the process, were also reporting the importance of those activities and the powerful transformation they have noticed in their sons and doughters.
Boarding members of the school were also very happy about the course and they are currently planning a second edition of the project.
