Aims & objectives

The project supporting the goals of the Latvian National Agency aimed to achieve the following:
* To raise awareness among participants of the digital wellbeing
* Increase participants' knowledge of the impact of digitisation on mental health].
* Improve the skills of participants to practice of efficient and balanced use of digital technologies

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

We’ve selected to work with 20 participants (youth workers, coaches, volunteer mentors, youth leaders and those involved in youth field) from different countries (Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Türkiye, Latvia).

Training methods used & main activities

The training course built on David Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory. The main methods we used to support the learning were the following:
* pair, small group and whole-group conversations
* self-reflection, self-evaluation, journaling
* meditation and mindfulness activites
* daily rituals
* kynestetic learning
* interactive exhibition for self-reflection and practicing
* brainstorming
* wolrd-cafe

Outcomes of the activity

Participants had the chance to raise awareness of digital wellbeing in the framework of 9 sessions, as well as gather insights via informal learning in breaks and during meal times.

Participants had the chance to increase their knowledge about the impact of digitalisation on mental health through 3 sessions dedicated to the topic.

Participants had the chance to improve their skills of efficient and balanced use of digital technologies through 5 sessions dedicated get to know, try, and practice new tools, methods, best practices etc.

Evaluation shows an increase from an average of 5 to 9 of participants’ understanding about digital wellbeing from before to after the training course on a 10 scale course.

Evaluation shows an increase from an average of 6 to 9 of participants’ understanding knowledge of the digitalisation impact on mental health from before to after the training course on a 10 scale course.

Evaluation shows an increase from an average of 5 to 9 of participants’ understanding knowledge on how to balance the optimal use of digital technologies and taking care of Your mental health and digital wellbeing from before to after the training course on a 10 scale course.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My role in this project:

* supporting the participants selection process
* co-designing the training as one of the main trainers of two
* co-creating the resource material with the other trainer
* delivering the training with the other trainer (equal share)

Some words about me from my co-trainer, Ilze Jece, in the final report: „ Nora was super professional as a trainer and also as an expert in digital wellbeing area. I felt comfortable working with her due to complete trust that she will be able to work with the group smoothly and professionally.“

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
