Aims & objectives

The course aims at building the competencies of trainers, communication experts and other interested stakeholders, to use and include human rights narratives into their daily action for countering hate speech. It will take place in Tbilisi, followed by an online support module until end of October 2023. This project is implemented within the third Phase of the joint programme of the European Union and the Council of Europe “Partnership for Good Governance”, the project on “Combating hate speech in Georgia”.

The training team was composed of Georgians and a North Macedonian colleague from Strasbourg. The group was Georgian

Training methods used & main activities

The course was using non-formal learning methods, group discussions and group work creating counter narratives against hate speech.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

1. Present the content and facilitate discussions for as part of the course, notably those linked with Human Rights Education, non-discrimination, counter and alternative narratives and their practical application 2. Support the individual and group reflection and learning process of the participants and provide where necessary, further clarification, input and support. 3. To coordinate the pedagogical work on the training course, share tasks with other consultants in close cooperation with the Council of Europe’s secretariat 4. To facilitate various sessions within the course in close cooperation with other consultants and the Council of Europe’s secretariat, and deliver sessions, inputs in small groups and plenary. 5. To provide an evaluation of the course from personal perspective focused on the key learning achievements for the participants and potential for follow-up.
