Aims & objectives

The Course aims to develop competence of youth leaders and educators working with
children and youth in the pedagogical development of activities dealing with Human Rights and Children’s Rights Education by using non formal education methodology.
The course:
- Explore deeper the Children Rights in the broad European context.
- Develop competences on Human Rights Education with children experience activities and resources of COMPASITO (Manual of the Council of Europe on Human Rights Education with Children)
- Develop future projects of cooperation.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Youth leaders and educators from organisations and institutions working with children and youth to the training course on Children Rights and Human Rights Education for children.
For participants from organisations located in Estonia, Lithuania, Spain, France, Italy, UK, Czech Republic, Austria, Finland, Germany and Latvia. In total 20 participants.

Training methods used & main activities

The course was designed to create the space were participants experience and reflect upon activities and concepts central to children rights and human rights education based on experiential learning approaches.
The course was also designed as a space for mutual learning, where participants exchange their approaches to training especially regarding children rights issues, across Europe.
The previous experience of participants, in the formal and non-formal sectors, was the starting point of the programme and of the learning process.
The course had a space to present and practice the Manual of the Council of Europe on Human Rights Education for Children “COMPASITO”.

Outcomes of the activity

Project gave space for new partnership building. After participants of this TC applied for new projects on local and international level.
Participants get new knowledges about Human and Childrens rights. Also they get perfect tool- Composito which is best handbook probably when your work is connected with childrens and youngsters. Participants were able to organize activities not just for themselves, but also to teach and lead workshops for others.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Organized by close cooperation with our Estonian partners. That was my first expierence as international trainer. I was responsible about some tasks and topics, mainly focusing on group evaluations, team building and sharing experience and good practices activities.

I worked on this training for 9 days as a full time trainer.
