Aims & objectives

The “CATA” project was designed as a social response to the rise of the climate crisis that societies are facing, especially, during these last years

The needs of the participants were:
- to learn new methods of cooperation
- to obtain new knowledge to face environmental issues
- to train their abilities to work with different social groups
- to exchange the knowledge between the participating countries

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

27 participants between 18-30 years old from different countries: Romania, Spain, Turkey, Italy, and Greece.
Profiles were completely different including people at social risk inclusion.

Training methods used & main activities

The method of the activity was:
- Theory and workshop sessions (discussions, dialogue and conversation building, defying and proving facts and arguments, and opinion-making activities)

Outcomes of the activity

During the YE implementation, participants obtained not only knowledge but also skills and attitudes based on diverse areas. The participants were able to develop their knowledge about environment in a pratical way.
Through experiential and intercultural learning, they were able to see various ways of dealing with similar issues, as well as good practices in other countries, which may be useful to be applied on their own.
Regarding the skills, our participants gained new items according to teamwork, group dynamics, leadership skills, new methods of understanding, and experiential learning exercises.
Creativity, openness, self-reflection, curiosity, and the ability to dare to change are skills that will be tackled and encouraged during the YE. Participants will be challenged by experiencing an outdoor experience and experiential learning cycle themselves.
