Aims & objectives

The project, elaborated in the thematic area Migrant Communities, aimed to promote the access to ICT technologies based on free software and trash-ware equipments in Cape Verde island of Sao Nicolau, with the objective of enhancing social inclusion, communication between local community and migrants, and promoting local entrepreneurship.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The participants of the training course were young people, peer educators and youth workers from Itaky with origins from Cape Verde and peer educators and youth workers from Cape verde.

Training methods used & main activities

The training course was composed by two different workshops:
1. ICT and digital divide: in order to provide technical support to users, project's follow up and future economic sustainability of the Multimedia Centres in Cape Verde Archipelago.
2. North-south cooperation and migrations: how to analyse the migratory flows and to develop the cooperation between Cape verde and Italy.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants were trained to manage ICT tools – ICT and radio - in order to provide technical support to users, they learn new working methods based on formal education techniques. Both these element were very important in the development of the following steps of the project, which consisted in the activities and workshops run in Italy and Cape Verde.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Setting up of the training course's activity programme and content's development;
Trainer in the workshop on north-south cooperation and migrations.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
