TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The main aim of the project is to expand knowledge of youth workers, youth leaders and school teachers on empowering young people and supporting their development through non-formal learning and the promotion of a growth mindset.
The project's direct objectives are:
- to learn how to empower young people to assess their own competences, to communicate them and to take responsibility for their own learning and development within the context of lifelong learning;
- to learn how to promote a growth mindset and nurture motivation to learn in young people;
- to explore meanings, roles and complementarity of different educational approaches and methods (formal, non-formal, informal);
- to get insight on how to develop cooperation between youth organisations and formal educational institutions for the benefits of young people;
- to observe and share good practices of this cooperation;
- improve understanding of how to assess and acknowledge learning outcomes of young people involved in NFL activities.
Participants were youth workers, leaders and teachers from: Bulgaria, Croatia, Canarian Islands (Spain), Greece, Estonia, Latvia, Malta, Slovakia, Slovenia and Romania
NFL methods: games, work with cards, discussions, group work, individual work, work in pairs, youth to adults method, "world cafe".
Different technics for reflection: cards, Blob tree, reflection pool, learning buddies, etc.
- participants developed attitudes and got new knowledge
- participants developed partnership - new project was applied by partner after the training
- participants exchanged good practices
- young people got experience to be trainers for adult youth workers (method youth to adults)
