The trainers' team was composed by Maria Chavert Garcia, and Carlos de Sousa Santos

Training methods used & main activities

The pedagogical approach of this project was based on Global Education and Non Formal Education principles and values.
The final objectives, contents and programme were defined by pedagogical team having into consideration the profile, needs and motivations of participants and the overall objectives of the long term cooperation project having Youth Participation as main target of role.
The focus of the training was on the participants/learners and a learning to learn dimension was also explored.
The co-working format of the training was a quite important element because it contributed for the development of intercultural skills and to promote a “learn to live together” experience.
The training team fostered collective responsibility towards the fulfilment of team and participants’ expectations and cooperative learning was a cross cutting key element of the learning process.
Aware that people have different learning approaches, especially in such a multicultural group, the trainers tried to bring different educational methods to the training (video, drawing, theatre, small groups exercise, debate techniques and others), in order to fulfill everyone’s needs.

Outcomes of the activity

After the activity the educators went back and in the framework of European Youth Capitals, implemented a national activity on EYC (from meetings between educators of Pool of Trainers, to workshops, training and other kind of activities)
Cooperation project between Portugal and Spain, mainly with the region of Galicia and the city of Coruna are being developed since the seminar.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I participate actively with the preparation of the project and Seminar.
I was involved with the working team and work was based on good practices sharing.
The project included a Open Seminar to all A Coruna EYC 2016 Candidate City Stake holders. Trainers had opportunity to present a communication about their Youth Capital Experience.

I worked on this training for 6 Days days as a full time trainer.
