Aims & objectives

this project was born with the idea of providing professionals working in areas related to intervention and social action of music therapy resources and tools. For this, it is proposed to carry out an intervention program for each participant in which they will use the techniques and resources learned throughout the training.

To this end, the objectives pursued are, in the first place, to know and use techniques and dynamics related to sound, music, voice, body language and music therapy aimed at achieving greater social inclusion. Secondly, create an intervention project applied to each participant, which will be carried out later in their usual work environment.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

This project is intended for a maximum of 13 participants with a varied profile but who work in social intervention and action. Priority will be given to those who have motor, sensory or other difficulties or who are in some kind of unfavorable situation.

The participants profile included youth workers, social workers, facilitators, pedagogues, artists, psychologists, philosophers and music activists who has their residence in Italy, France, Poland, Greece or Spain, and also Jordania and Syria. However, all of them learned: a clear interest in the project, be interested in music therapy as a tool, the desire to develop their own personal and professional knowledge, attitudes and skills on this subject and the desire to exchange, interact and work with professionals from different disciplines.

Training methods used & main activities

The activities are varied and divided into four main blocks:
- Presentation and closing, exploring musical resources (voice, body, instruments and song)
- Exploration of music therapy methods and techniques (receptive and active)
- Design of an intervention program.

It was a learning process based on NFE methods, on-going learning, practise and creativity.

Outcomes of the activity

The most powerful outcome was our final activity: we went to a Special Education School in Segovia called "Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza" to play, listen and do music with the students, with people with dissabilities.

And it was a succes. Our participants had the opportunity to work a whole morning with this target group, and the sutdents had the chance to interact with people from all over the Europe.

We couldn't share photos of the meeting, because we cannot publish photos of minors, but we did this post about the whole experience: https://www.instagram.com/p/ClbNVWigNxo/

And we are working now, to do after our final report, a sound publication about all the trainig course.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Our team consisted of Alberto Acebes, María Arias and myself. They are qualified music therapists, I am in my final year of my internship and in May I will get my diploma.

I worked like trainer during all the training course, helping them in some activities and leading other workshops. Also i was coordinating the whole project.

My main task were voice, songwriting and improvisation workshops.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.

Testimonial of the reference person

For me, work with Andrelo is a good chance to develop our more deep skills. We work with empathy, team spirit... and the way he connects with the groups, through humor and honesty, its wonderful.

Also, he was coordinating the whole project, he coordinated the programme with Alberto and María, he is a good viber, a good listener and his ability to adapt to circumstances and his capacity to solve problems or improvise without affecting the spirit of the group is marvellous.
